Qatar Red Crescent Society’s (QRCS) Training and Development Center is an integrated training and qualification facility that offers diverse training and education services. Using state-of-the-art training equipment and techniques, the center holds many courses internationally accredited by global training organizations, up to the highest quality standards. It serves a wide range of medical workers in Qatar, including physicians, nurses, first responders, and technicians, as well as disaster preparedness and relief workers both in Qatar and beyond, following the world’s best health and administrative practices. The center focuses specifically on government and private-sector employees, construction and infrastructure laborers, and other social groups.
Inspired by QRCS’s goals and principles as an auxiliary to the State of Qatar, the Training and Development Center seeks to develop humanitarian services, particularly health care, in harmony with the country’s recent advancements. To that end, the center:
- Educates the public to save lives and integrates this into the sustainable health development framework, in accordance with the policies and strategic plans of Qatar National Vision 2030;
- Develops and introduces good, internationally accredited professional and health training/development programs;
- Promotes good health-related culture and knowledge among the public to improve the quality of life both individually and socially; and
- Sponsors health studies and research in light of the national needs and schemes.
Objectives
QRCS’s Training and Development Center seeks to:
- build a strong educational culture where everyone can reach their full potential and that would increase job satisfaction and support career development;
- provide considerable training and development opportunities that meet the operational and strategic objectives of QRCS, as well as individual learning expectations and needs;
- support the community by ensuring the education that fits the learning needs of its members; and
- enhance, manage, and deliver all employee training and development activities up to the highest equality and integrity standards.
Courses
-
Administrative Courses:
These are formal/informal and in-service/out-of-duty activities and programs that help individuals to learn about the responsibilities, and develop the skills and competencies, to achieve the Division’s goals and develop both personally and professionally.
-
CME Training Courses:
To renew medical licensing, every medical practitioner has to get 80 credit hours of continuing professional development (CPD) every two years, or one course of 40 credit hours every year, to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Public Health’s (MOPH) Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP), which declares that “all health care practitioners are expected to show commitment to maintaining their proficiency and enhance their performance, by engaging in CPD throughout their professional careers. All part-time and full-time health care practitioners in Qatar have to complete the requirements of the annual CPD course to retain their registration and renew their medical licensing”.
-
First-Aid and CPR Courses:
People receive training to enhance their skills of applying life-saving measures in situations where lives are endangered. Consequently, those trainees become prepared to deal with crises and help others when needed. First-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) courses are aimed at providing immediate response to reduce life-threatening risks and securing first-aid care until the arrival of advanced medical health.
National and International Accreditation
- All the programs offered for physicians and health workers are accredited by MOPH-DHP. Other programs are accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA). All first aid courses are accredited by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). Currently, the center plans to receive international accreditation for more programs.

The courses are taught by well-trained instructors with international training certification. We have:
- Instructors specialized in first aid and AHA’s Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)/ Basic Life Support (BLS) courses.
