QRCS ensures food security for thousands of vulnerable families during Ramadan

As the end of Ramadan is approaching, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is gearing up to conclude Ramadan Iftar projects outside Qatar, as part of its Ramadan Campaign  Fruitful Giving​ 2025/1446 AH.

Most of QRCS's foreign offices/missions and fellow National Societies in the host countries have completed the distribution of Ramadan food parcels/meals to the beneficiaries, with the remaining distributions to be finalized ahead of the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In partnership with Hayat Yolu Association, 15,300 food parcels were distributed across Gaza, under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Salah Ibrahim, Assistant Secretary-General for Relief and International Development at QRCS, who headed a two-week official delegation to Gaza.

Dr. Ibrahim took part in the packaging of food parcels in Deir Al-Balah, Central Gaza, as well as the distribution of food parcels at the Insan Camp in the Central Governorate. In coordination with Gazze Destek Organization, QRCS's personnel in Gaza distributed 227,367 hot meals at shelters in Northern and Southern Gaza throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

QRCS's representation office in the West Bank and Al-Quds, in cooperation with Palestine Red Crescent Society PRCS, is distributing Ramadan food parcels to 7,850 beneficiaries across the northern, central, and southern West Bank, as well as villages and outskirts of Al-Quds City.

Thanks to the generous donors of Qatar, 1,000 and 861 food parcels were distributed in Baidoa and Banadir respectively, helping 11,166 fasting people at IDP camps find food during Ramadan. In coordination with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Society (SARCS), more than 13,500 food parcels were distributed to internally displaced people (IDPs) at camps of Aleppo and Idlib.

HE Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Sada, Ambassador of Qatar to Sudan, participated in the distribution of 2,088 Ramadan food parcels to vulnerable people in many states, in cooperation with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS)

In cooperation with Yemen Red Crescent Society (YRCS), QRCS distributed 7,476 food parcels for the benefit of 52,332 IDPs & most vulnerable people in six governorates (Taiz, Aden, Al-Hudaydah, Lahij, Al-Mahrah, and Raymah), at a total cost of $458,656. Each one-month parcel contained 60 kg of food staples like flour, sugar, rice, dates, canned beans, vegetable oil, and salt.

With the donations of the benevolent people of Qatar, QRCS and the Lebanese Red Cross worked together to deliver Ramadan Iftar parcels to 11,700 Syrian refugees and other local beneficiaries across Lebanon.

QRCS's representation office in Bangladesh completed Ramadan Iftar project, in cooperation with Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), with diverse food parcels distributed to 10,100 poor families at refugee camps in Cox's Bazar, as well as 6,350 poor local families in several districts.

The Tanzanian Red Cross Society and Uganda Red Cross Society distributed Ramadan food parcels to 171 poor and low-income families in Tanzania and 600 families, or 3,000 Sudanese and South Sudanese refugees and the host community in Uganda respectively.
