7/10/2023

Yousef bin Ali Al-Khater, President of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), has visited Al-Hemailah Workers' HealthCenter in the Industrial Area, to find out about the facilities, services, and system of the center, which is one of four Workers' Health Centers operated by QRCS under a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH).

The visit was attended by Abdullah Sultan Al-Qattan, Executive Director of Medical Affairs Division (MAD), Mohamed Rashid Al-Marri, Director of Communication and Public Relations, Dr. Hassan Ali Qassim, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of MAD, Ahmed Saud Jassim, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at MAD, Dr. Mohamed Morhaf Al-Akshar, Deputy CMO and Director of Al-Hemailah Workers' Health Center, and many heads of department at MAD.

Mr. Al-Khater commended the modern technologies and extraordinary professionalism at the Workers' Health Centers, which help offer the best primary health care services to patients in various medical specialties. He promised to provide every possible form of support to ensure the success of development and expansion plans, towards QRCS's short-term and long-term community development mandates.

He watched a presentation on MAD's departments and specializations. It operates Workers' Health Centers in the Industrial Area, Mesaimeer, Fereej Abdulaziz, and Zekreet. Together, these health facilities receive an average of 96,000 patients per month, with a total capacity of 546 physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and technicians. Over the past 13 years, the number of visitors to Workers' Health Centers increased considerably from 5,019 in 2010 to 1,218,649 in 2022. This shows how QRCS pays great attention to the welfare of expatriate workers in Qatar, effectively pursuing the human development goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

Recently, QRCS's MAD has obtained the platinum-level accreditation from Accreditation Canada, after passing the final survey at the four Workers' Health Centers, with 891 criteria under nine standards successfully met. There are preparations to fulfil 20 additional criteria, for QRCS to be eligible for the diamond-level accreditation.

Mr. Al-Khater commented, “This certification is the product of impressive work and harmony among the involved teams. They admirably contributed to our culture of quality and excellence. I would like to thank MOPH for their permanent cooperation with QRCS, as well as their absolute trust in its ability to meet the requirements and priorities of development, quality, and inclusiveness within the country's general policy and the national health strategy".
